New long $15/pip USDJPY @ 104.33. Monitoring 103.80 level for downside risk.

The BoJ meeting tomorrow is not expected to create any waves, but there is a press conference and at these things anything can happen, so I’ll be monitoring the comments closely at that time.

The charts are showing pressure building up to bust through the 105 level soon, and maybe even the recent high around 105.44.

My system generated long signals in all the yen pairs earlier today, at about 4.00 gmt. The levels at that time were UJ = 103.35, EJ = 141.32.

I hesitated, because I’ll be travelling this weekend, from Thursday night till Monday night next week. I am concerned about keeping trades open when I travel, but after seeing how the pairs have moved in the past 2 hours, I am tempted. I am going long UJ & EJ at order sizes a little smaller than my rules recommend. Depending on where the market is on Thursday night, I may get out or leave hard / trailing stops in the trades.

Long $10/pip USDJPY at 103.68

Long $8/pip EURJPY at 141.89.

Crap! I overlooked the UK CPI data release at 9.30 which I know would impact all pairs. Usually I would wait for that event to pass before entering this trade.

I’m keeping my long since this pair will be pulled in two directions by UJ and GU, so it may not drop a lot and will recover strongly. But just in case it also drops 200 pips, I’ve got that covered with the short.
