Additionally, the EUR/USD pair hit the past weekly resistance and also reached the weekly pivot point yesterday. Hence, the trend was downward and the range seemed extensive up to 91 pips. Notwithstanding, stop loss should always be in account, accordingly, it will be of beneficial to set the stop loss above the daily resistance 3 at the price of 1.3760.

Five Ways To Get a Free Credit Score (No Trials!)

Five Ways To Get a Free Credit Score (No Trials!)

via My Money Blog:

transunion scores result range major improving equifax debt personal finance Updated. You can now again get credit scores from all 3 bureaus for free. The government allows you to get a free credit report every year from AnnualCreditReport.com. But what about your numerical credit score? Here is a compilation of different ways to grab a free credit score without the hassle of annoying trial offers or providing a credit card. The goal: No free trial membership required, no credit card number required, nothing to cancel. Here are the best options I could find.

Remember, everyone has three credit scores, one from each of the three major credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax, TransUnion.

CreditKarma

CreditKarma.com is an ad-supported site that offers you the ability to check your credit score based on your TransUnion credit report, updated every week for free. The score range is the same as FICO, from 300-850. They offer insights into improving your credit score, and you can also opt-in to free daily credit monitoring.

Quizzle

Quizzle.com is an ad-supported site that offers a free credit score based on your Equifax credit report, called a VantageScore credit score, updated once every 6 months. You also get a free copy of your Equifax credit score once every six months. Twice a year is less often than other services and makes it harder to track credit improvement, but hey it’s still free. The score scale is also 300-850.

Equifax FICO (Trial)

If you sign up for a free 10-day trial at MyFICO.com, you’ll get an instant free Equifax credit report and Equifax FICO credit score. You’ll need a credit card. You must call 1.888.577.5978 to cancel, although you may be able to do it online as well. My recommendation is to get your credit report and credit score, print or save to PDF, and then cancel immediately afterward on the same day so that you won’t forget later. Hours (PDT) M-F 6am-6pm, Sat 7am-4pm, Sun Closed.

Discover it Card

transunion scores result range major improving equifax debt personal finance The new Discover It® Card offers you a free FICO score based on your TransUnion credit report once every month with your statement. The card has no annual fee and includes features like 5% cash back on rotating categories and no foreign transaction fees.

Credit Sesame

transunion scores result range major improving equifax debt personal finance Credit Sesame is an ad-supported site that offers you a free credit score based on your Experian credit report. Updates once a month. Range is from 300-850.

You will need to provide your personal information and Social Security number to some of these companies, naturally, so be comfortable with that. None of these methods by themselves will affect your credit score as you are requesting them for yourself.

Week In FX Americas – The Loonies’ Week from Hell

Week In FX Americas – The Loonies’ Week from Hell

via MarketPulse:

The Canadian dollar has taken it on the chin this week, already down -4.5% against its largest trading partner, the USD this year, the currency is closing out the week on the back foot and this despite the presence of a stronger retail sales headline print yesterday (+0.6%). Notwithstanding keeping rates on hold mid-week (+1%), the Bank of Canada’s policy statement leans towards a further easing bias, without explicitly making the change in stance.

Governor Poloz removed from its statement the phrase that the “substantial monetary policy stimulus currently in place remains appropriate,” which happened to appear in the last statement only a month ago. Many believe that within the context of the BoC’s heightened concern about persistently low inflation, the omission represents a step closer towards an easing bias.

However, on Friday, total inflation in Canada fell -0.2%, m/m in December, with a y/y pace of inflation to +1.2%, back into the Banks 1-3% target range from +0.9% in the month before. The increase in the yearly pace of both headline and core prices – up to +1.3% – is likely to bring some sense of calm to the “disinflation weary Governor Poloz.”

Canadian bond prices happened to soften slightly on the Canada’s inflation headline, but do remain better bid, along with US Treasurys from a flight to safety bid as investors scrambled out of riskier emerging assets. This too has the CAD shifting ever so slightly away from its newly cemented lows for the time being. Nevertheless, the “mighty buck” is expected to remain better bid on pullbacks until some normalcy reappears within all asset classes.

These kinds of moves are frequent and in a year offer you several opportunities. The post: How to identify good momentum bursts and make millions details the essence of the setup. The post lead to some comments and discussion on stops and exits.

By its very nature this is 3 to 5 days trade. Om entry day the only reason for entry is that we believe the range expansion will lead to follow through. If that does not happen and stock revisits entry day low, the range expansion signal has failed.

Entry in this kind of trade happens as soon as stock shows up in my scan. That can be anywhere from market open to just before close. The stop is low of the entry day as this is momentum burst trade.

Exit in this kind of trade is based on time exit and profit exit. Because by very nature this kind of trade is 3 to 5 day duration, I am looking at exit on 3rd , 4th or 5th day. Not only that but we also know profits in this kind of trade is going to be 8 to 40%. So if a stock says goes up 20% in one day after entry, I sell part of the position and put a very tight stop on rest of the position to ensure profit does not vanish.

Most of these kind of trades work instantly. For example currently I have YY trade open. The trade already is up 10% plus in 2 days.

I will hold this trade for 4 to 5 days , but at the same time now my focus is to ensure this trade does not end up loss making and I exit it with at least some profits. Accordingly stop is adjusted to protect open profits.

Swing trading momentum bursts is a low risk strategy. You can keep your draw downs very small and compound your money.

After spending few weeks post Thanksgiving going sideways the indexes had big bounce after the Fed meeting. This bullish move will likely continue in to new year. You should not have shortage of swing trading candidates with this bullish action.

Rotational kind of action continues and money was rotating in to new sectors like financials and home builders. IPO ‘s continue to do well.

All in all good year end action so far.

Forex Triangles

Forex Triangles

via Winners Edge Trading:

Hello Forex Traders,

The first thing I do every early morning is to browse through the charts and search for trading opportunities. Are there any trend line breaks? Is there a pullback after a trend line break? Are there are chart patterns in play? What is the trend?

One thing I started to notice is the lack of a trend on most currency pairs. The GBPUSD has been bouncing up and down between 1.59 and 1.62 in big daily range. The USDJPY is still in a triangle as well – just as the GBPJPY and CADJPY. The NZDUSD is another classical example as well.

14- 11- 2013 gu 4

The exceptions to this range environment have been the Euro and Australian U.S. Dollar, which have seen decent trending moves against the USD and GBP for instance. GBPAUD for instance has moved up and down within a 1,300 pip range, which offers decent trending trades, but is historically a rather tight range for this currency pair.

14- 11- 2013 ga w

NZDUSD

The Kiwi was unable to break the key support level at 0.82 yesterday. This support in fact caused the Kiwi to bounce and make a momentum push up, which closed with a big exhaustion wick. That wick could be a trend line bounce but if we take recent price action into account, then the entire zone becomes a massive range. A move back towards the top of the range is possible.

14- 11- 2013 nu 4

This daily consolidation (red and green) is in fact just part of a bigger triangle on the weekly (purple trend lines).

14- 11- 2013 nu w

USDJPY

The UJ too is in a well established contracting triangle. The range has slowly but surely tightened to a range of a mere 200-300 pips on a daily chart. A break out – when it finally does occur – could be very powerful due to prolonged quietness. Price is currently right at the top the triangle and is at a bounce or break spot. Both an up and a downside break out are good trades to capitalize on.

14- 11- 2013 uj d

GBPJPY

In this regard the GBPJPY might be leading the way because its 2 month’s consolidation zone of 300 pips is breaking as we speak. The GBPJPY owes its nickname – the Ferrari – due to its fast and big movements. This tight consolidation zone, therefore, lasted relatively long for the Ferrari among the currency pairs.

The current daily candle is pushing above the trend line and is in the process of breaking. No worries if you have missed the breakout. Remember, there the Forex market always offers retracements. Forex traders always have tons of time to plan a trade. And it is our job to implement our plan to best of our abilities, which then should lead to profitability. Never focus on profitability without a clear plan, otherwise the success will not repeat itself.

In any case, a good plan would be to wait for today’s candle close. A massive wick would not inspire us to consider this a sustainable break for the moment. Also, there is a lot of resistance to the left of the chart (red line). And last but not least, the USDJPY is at a top of the triangle. Keep an eye on that currency pair as well. As soon as the UJ breaks upwards, there will be a high chance of seeing upside follow through on the Ferrari.

14- 11- 2013 gj d

Thank you for tuning in! Do you like trading ranges or are you a trend trader? Are you going to trade the Yen break out if it occurs? Let us know down below!

Good Trading!

The few days of oversold reading on index resulted in a bounce on Friday. That has been the pattern in this market . V shaped recovering after few days of selling.

However underlying stock action in momentum stock does not show high probability of continuation. Most of the momentum leaders are in retreat or range bound. There are very few orderly pullbacks.

That means one need to look at the new leaders. Banks were clearly the new leaders yesterday with several of them having breakouts on Friday. If they follow through then they will offer swing opportunities.
